The Story of how Li’l Andy came to be.

Or in other words, how a brass guitar slide ended up living on an island in Florida.

“My whole life is changing,” Li’l Andy said, to know one in particular. “It feels as if I am leaving my home in Albany, New York and all that I knew there.” It was really scary for Li’l Andy. He’s been travelling in a van for a very long time. He looked very sad as the day went on. “I don’t know this new musician’s hand or van, Li’l Andy said in a very small voice, I’m afraid that I will never see ‘My Andy’ again.” ‘My Andy’ was Li’l Andy’s first musician and he was kind to the little slide. He thought he would be returning to his little drawer in My Andy’s home but now he may never see that home again.

Li’l Andy is scared and sad

Li’l Andy decided to send out a post to My Andy’s facebook page to see if he could send help. My Andy sent out a comment to Li’l Andy that read, I was thinking on my way back to the hotel that I didn’t get “Little Andy” back. Consider him adopted. May he wear him in good health as he rips some great slide leads. That being said, please let “Little Andy” know that he is loved no matter what.

Li’l Andy is feeling a bit better after seeing South of the Border

That was not the comment he thought he was going to read coming from ‘My Andy’ so he was still a little sad as his new family made their way way past ‘South of the Boarder’ in South Carolina. But Li’l Andy put on a brave face for the the next photo. He thought putting on a hat could make him happy. The hat really didn’t make him happy but he was no longer sad. He thought he would try to make the best of it because he knew he was no longer going home.

“It’s really not too bad, Li’l Andy thought to himself, It’s really not bad at all. In fact, I kind of like looking out the front windshield and watching all the action and life out there.” Li’l Andy started to hum a little tune as he continued the journey to the little island in Florida. It rained most of the time from South Carolina, through Georgia and into Florida. But little Andy put on his brave little face as his family took pictures at the Welcome Rest Area and promised Li’l Andy a rainbow cookie for being so adventurous.

By the time Li’l Andy got to his new home he was asleep. His new family carried him up to his new room where he dreamt about all the new things he was going to do in this new place called Anna Maria Island.
